WiseImage Pro Geo Edition:
Raster to GIS fast-tracked
WiseImage Pro Geo Edition is
targeted for users of many different applications such as
cadastral, GIS, infrastructure planning, land development, land
survey, geology and others. It is the ultimate solution for
customers who work with both raster and vector data accompanied
by attributive information.
WiseImage Geo provides professional tools to integrate and
convert images and vector data. It is perfect to create,
geo-reference and edit spatial data, including attribute data
from scanned maps, cadastral plans, aerial and satellite
photography, sketches and other raster graphics. The unique
raster to vector conversion technology, a modern flexible
interface and support for VBS and JavaScript helps to transfer
scanned maps into Autodesk Map, ArcGIS (ESRI), MapInfo, and
other mapping and GIS solutions.
WiseImage Geo utilizes the power of the raster-vector imagery
editor and the raster to contour converter using a professional
set of original geo-focused processing tools including the
ability to develop custom processing scenarios. Multiple raster
images can be loaded and the number of images handled
simultaneously is virtually unlimited.
Scan-to-GIS workflow
Large format scanners produce
high quality black and white, grayscale, or color raster images.
However, to effectively transfer scanned maps and other graphics
to GIS, efficient post-processing software is necessary; the
ideal solution is WiseImage Geo.
WiseImage Geo combines premium tools to process scanned maps,
satellite imagery, or aerial photographs for seamless and
efficient GIS integration. Image correction, calibration,
bit-depth reduction and interactive or automatic raste-to-vector
conversion with WiseImage Geo eliminates the repetitive and time
consuming manual procedures associated with traditional
digitizing.
The typical full-length workflow can be described as:
- Scan
- Clean and enhance
- Digitize (Vectorize)
- Data Extraction and Export
to GIS
WiseImage Geo works perfectly in all stages. It optimizes
workflow from the very beginning - controls the scanning process
and automatic clean-up after scanning to optimize raster image
quality. It has a high-end scanning module called WiseScan with
native support for most wide format scanners, enabling high
quality map scanning.
In the next stage WiseImage Geo provides the user with the
ability to geo-reference images and to perform cleanup and
calibration on images.
It is also possible to use the smart WiseObject selection
technology to separate text areas and symbols onto other layers,
separating them from the original image.
When the map or plan is prepared for digitizing, the user has
the choice of quick automatic raster-to-vector conversion or the
advanced tracing function (interactive raster-to-vector
conversion). Both methods can be used for monochrome, color or
grayscale images. In addition to simple graphics object tracing
in WiseImage Geo, it is possible to trace raster shapes that
corresponds with pre-defined or imported vector templates.
High Precision and Colour
Reduction
Exact calibration is an
essential requirement when processing digital maps. WiseImage
Geo offers multiple options for selecting the most suitable
method, full manual control or automatic input support,
importing coordinate values or assigning point positions
manually. Various transformation methods provide high precision
results fast.
Working with colour and
greyscale raster maps
In WiseImage Geo it is possible
to crop color and greyscale raster images, change their
resolution and scale, deskew images, and eliminate linear and
non-linear deformations using the calibration feature. Moreover
a user can easily manage the colors of the image and create/edit
LUT files using the Color Classifier.
Geo-referencing and GeoTIFF
WiseImage Geo supports
professional geo-referencing options for raster images including
the full set of GeoTIFF settings, including multi-page files or
TWF creation for all raster formats.
Mosaicing and Assembly
Large raster maps can be split
into any number of smaller sections ("tiles") to
enable fast display focus for regions of interest. Using
geo-referencing, these tiles will match perfectly in the target
program. The result can be saved as a single multi-page GeoTIFF
file.
Quick Conversion to Lines,
Areas, Attributes
A unique set of line following
and contour recognition features assists in digitizing scanned
maps or aerial images. Even multi-coloured altitude lines are
easily converted into splines and polylines. A special polygon
and polyline function recognizes area objects in black and white
or colour drawings. A single click is all that is required when
digitizing buildings and properties in cadastral maps.
Operations with raster objects
and texts
WiseImage Geo offers several
advanced options for working with raster and vector data. The
unique technology to select or separate raster objects, which is
based on intelligent selections and a brand new selection engine
including the new WiseObject (text, hatches, lines) selection
toolbar.
Tracing and correction
WiseImage Geo will recognize
shapes and match them to the appropriate vector objects from the
loaded symbol (block) library or a customized library designed
to match the users requirements.
Compatible with any GIS
WiseImage Geo supports GIS
image integration and conversion in all kinds of application
fields, such as infrastructure planning, cadastral records, land
development, land survey, geology and many more
WiseImage Geo exports data in all major GIS and image formats,
including Autodesk DWG/DXF, ESRI Shape files, MapInfo formats,
Intergraph multipage raster, GeoTIFF and others.
The "intelligence" of WiseImage Geo will reduce costs
and bring an additional value to existing mapping documents.
Open Architecture
WiseImage Geo provides a
revolutionary breakthrough giving it the ability to use
WiseImage open architecture and ActiveX technology to create
scripting tools and automation. The Java script and VB script
editor studio is available to customize WiseImage Geo for an
infinite number of user defined tasks.
