PlanTracer
receives The
Editor's Choice Award from CADENCE Magazine.
"The Award is given to those
companies that the CADENCE editorial team feels constitute significant
technology that will help move the CAD industry (and related
disciplines) forward. PlanTracer is the first solution on the market for
AutoCAD and Architectural Desktop (ADT) that converts floor and building
plans into intelligent models automatically and/or semi- automatically.
These models are also suitable for immediate use in AEC or Facilities
Management (FM) applications.
PlanTracer enables conversion of simple
graphics or source floor plans into objects such as walls, columns,
windows, doors, etc. The program can process any 2D-floor plan loaded in
ADT or ACAD. It processes scanned raster drawings or DWG/DXF files.
Facility managers can scan their paper
drawings, convert the raster data to vector with the WiseImage plug-in
to PlanTracer, and then create a 3-D model. PlanTracer bridges the gap
between an AEC model of a building and vector data provided by any 2D
drawing system or by raster-to-vector conversion software."
This is what Cadence say about the Editors Choice Award:
Ever need to turn your source floor
plans into objects such as walls, columns, windows, and doors? This new
plug-in for Autodesk's Architectural Desktop and AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT lets
users convert 2D CAD drawings, scanned raster images, and even sketches
into 3D models that are usable in AEC and Facilities Management (FM)
applications. This first-to-market product uses algorithms that enable
recognition of arbitrary objects by searching and recognizing patterns
in 2D plans. Other benefits of PlanTracer include automatic and
semi-automatic conversion modes, improved turnaround time for floor-data
extraction, open architecture for system integrators and third-party
developers, option to use your own symbol libraries for equipment and
furniture recognition, and reusable template libraries.
